(I changed the name because i decided to you know change what she is as the story progresses, so she won't be a newborn vampire the whole time but here we go.)
The Life of a Vampire
1
Though I haven’t been around long I’ve lost the date. The days and nights just melt into each other. Hunting is a chore rather than a meal. Some times I don’t get to go since there are so many of us. The burning is unbearable but I manage. The older I get the closer it is to my destruction. Our leader and creator won’t let anyone live, I guess that is what you would call it, beyond a year old. Though I’ve been guessing it seems like I was created seven months ago. I have to get out of here but I have to wait for the right chance. I can’t take it much longer any way. A lot of fights break out amongst us newborns. We loose our temper easily and if we don’t watch out we could loose a limb to the lighter or match in another vampire’s pocket. I had lost an arm but I was able to repair it before it was burned. I have to go. It’s my turn to go out hunting.
I shut the small paper notebook and shoved it into one of the holes in the walls. Quickly catching up with the vampires that were coming with me, I ran out the door of the small old shack that seemed ever closer to crumbling especially with a bunch of Newborns always fighting inside its basement, I rushed into the trees and into the water. I swam swiftly and easily through the water. Almost as though I myself were a fish, when I reached the surface I climbed up onto the bank and lay still like an injured or drowned human. This was one of my many tricks to luring the humans near me. Soon there was a scream as a woman raced up to me. As she touched my arm I felt her heart jolt. I fought back a smile as she reached a hand into her bag. I jumped to my feet smiling and grabbed her by the arm and put my hand firmly over her mouth to keep her quiet. I slyly dragged her behind a low, dark building where no one would see me. I threw her to the ground. She opened her mouth to scream. “ Shhhhhh.” My sweet voice spoke. “You’ll only make it worse for yourself.” I heard her heart jump and the burning in my throat became more prominent. “You might want to close your eyes.” I muttered, she did as I said though it looked like I was only 15. Kneeling down beside her I bit down hard and began to drink.
I didn't know that this was wrong, this is what I'd been taught to do. It was hard for me to not drink. The natural instincs of being a vampire kick in, and I just had to keep myself alive. Yes it was a terrible thing to do but what choice did I have? When I had sucked it dry and threw the body down it frustration. Why do humans have to contain so little blood?! I thought angrily, and I stuffed the body down under a rock at the bottom of the lake. Then went in search for more humans. It was different, of course than the blurry memorys from my human life, harder and more complicated but I didn't choose this life for myself. It was decided by someone else and I was forced to go through with it. I jumped silently from rooftop to rooftop, sometimes jumping into an alley to scare away gaurd dogs, but though this life was so difficult. It was kind of boring. The sweet smell of human blood filled my nostrils. I sighed, I'll have to kill again. She thought and jumped down into another alley. I used the same tactic I had on the beach but I used junk from the alley to look like I'd been attacked.
I smelled blood again, and the scent of another vampire. Finally I jumped to my feet annoyed. Brushing the debri thoroughly off myself I smelled blood again. "Darn it! I got beat to the punch again!" I hissed under my breath. I drank in the air again. "Such sweet blood!" I hissed kicking a dumpster and sending it through the wall of an old abandoned building. I heard the clumsy footstepd, alot of them. "I'd better get out of here." She muttered under her breath but all of a sudden they came into view. a few drunk men were wobbling through the alley. Then they spotted me. Then the dirty foolish words slipped out of their mouths. "Lookie boys," He hiccuped, "We got a pretty lady here she must be lost." He laughed, My mouth watered, it wasn't the best blood but it would have to do, but I had to control myself enough not to spring at them right away. I had to get them out of the path of the healights from the cars on the road. I walked swiftly down into the darkness, and a few hobbled after me. some who weren't as drunk didn't like the feeling I gave them and decided to go home. Less bodies to get rid of at least. When we were in complete darkness the three drunks that had followed me, walked into the darkness without question. Their weak human eyes couldn't see them but I could easily see them. "Where is ya sweetheart?" He laughed, his eyes bloodshot. That's when I struck, I killed them all before they could even open their mouths again. I drank quickly but I still wasn't satisfied. I grabbed them and did the same I'd done with the woman, and raced out again. I needed to be strong to survive with the rest of the newborns.
